Uniform Civil Code: રાજ્યમાં યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડ લાગુ કરવામાં આવશે ત્યાં લગ્ન, છૂટાછેડા અને મિલકતના વિભાજનમાં તમામ ધર્મો માટે સમાન કાયદો લાગુ પડશે.
યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડ (UCC) એટલે લગ્ન, છૂટાછેડા, બાળક દત્તક લેવા અને મિલકતની વહેંચણી જેવી બાબતોમાં તમામ નાગરિકો માટે સમાન કાયદો. આનો અર્થ એ છે કે ભારતમાં રહેતા દરેક નાગરિક માટે એકસમાન કાયદો હોવો જોઈએ, પછી ભલે એ કોઈપણ ધર્મ અથવા જાતિના હોય.

The Centre has been advocating for its residents to have access to the Uniform Civil Code.

- Click the Uniform Civil Code- Public Notice (New) file.
- Read it and click on click here link from Uniform Civil Code- Public Notice (New) PDF file.
- A new webpage will open where you need to fill in your details like name, contact num, organization, state pincode, etc.
- Enter the information, suggestions, and submit it.

Implementing a Uniform Civil Code would protect women’s and children’s rights, promote national unity, and strengthen India’s secular credentials. Creating a uniform code must involve every section of society to address their concerns and reservations.

Why is Uniform Civil Code in the debate?
The Uniform Civil Code establishes a single rule for the whole nation that applies to all faith sects concerning private affairs like custody, adoption, inheritance, and divorce. Hindus now have their own marriage rules in India. Parsis, Catholics, and Muslims are also subject to independent legal systems. Existing legislation like the Muslim Personal Law Application Act (1937), Hindu Marriage Act (1955), Hindu Succession Act (1956), and others will formally be dissolved if the UCC is passed.
Aim of Uniform Civil Code India
Uniform Civil Code aims to provide a single set of legal rules governing personal matters like marriage, divorce, inheritance, and adoption for all citizens of India, irrespective of their religion. The idea of a UCC is to bring about a sense of cohesion and equal treatment amongst all Indian citizens regardless of their religious, ethnic, or caste backgrounds.
Benefits of UCC in India
- One of the major benefits of implementing the UCC would be eliminating discrimination on religious grounds, ensuring that every religion is treated equally.
- It will ensure that the Indian Constitution’s fundamental rights are upheld consistently, regardless of religion.
- It is evident in the laws governing women’s rights in personal matters like marriage, divorce, and inheritance, which are governed by religion-specific laws.
- A Uniform Civil Code would grant all women equal rights and help stop religious atrocities against women.
યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડ (UCC) એટ્લે શું?
યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડનો અર્થ અલગ અલગ ધાર્મિક ગ્રંથો અને રિવાજો પર આધારિત પર્સનલ કાયદાને બદલે દેશના દરેક નાગરિકને લાગુ પડતો એક યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડ કાયદો છે. જો તમે આ કાયદાને સામાન્ય ભાષામાં સમજો છો તો યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડનો અર્થ દેશના દરેક નાગરિક માટે એકસમાન કાયદો, પછી એ કોઈપણ ધર્મ કે જાતિનો કેમ ન હોય. તમને જણાવી દઈએ કે દેશમાં અલગ-અલગ ધર્મો માટે અલગ-અલગ પર્સનલ કાયદા છે.
ભારતમાં યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડ લાગુ નથી, પરંતુ ભારતમાં મોટા ભાગના પર્સનલ કાયદાઓ ધર્મના આધારે નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. હિન્દુ, શીખ, જૈન અને બૌદ્ધો પાસે પર્સનલ કાયદા છે, જ્યારે મુસ્લિમો અને ખ્રિસ્તીઓના પોતાના કાયદા છે. મુસ્લિમોનો કાયદો શરિયત પર આધારિત છે જ્યારે અન્ય ધાર્મિક સમુદાયોના કાયદા ભારતીય સંસદના બંધારણ પર આધારિત છે.
ગુજરાતમાં વિધાનસભાની ચૂંટણી પહેલાં રાજ્ય સરકારે યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડનો પ્રસ્તાવ રજૂ કર્યો છે. આ વિશે એક કમિટી બનાવવાની પણ જાહેરાત કરી છે. આ કમિટી યુનિફોર્મ સિવિલ કોડની શક્યતા તપાસશે. આ માટે વિવિધ પાસાનું મૂલ્યાંકન કરવામાં આવશે. હાઇકોર્ટના નિવૃત્ત જજ આ કમિટીની અધ્યક્ષતા કરશે.
